Medical monitors allow medical staff to compute a patient's medical state such as patient vital signs and other parameters including EEG, ECG, blood pressure, and dissolved gases in the blood. Special care is taken by the medical technologist to handle the equipment.

Medical laboratory equipment gives support to analyze blood, urine and genes. Medical technologist and medical equipment are crucial elements of a treatment.

A Biomedical equipment technician or BMET is a vital element of the healthcare delivery system as the technician made specialization in handling medical equipment. Employed primarily by hospitals, BMETs are the people responsible for maintaining a facility's medical equipment in support to technologists who use it.
