In case of TB patient, before diagnosing and treating this infectious disease, the physician prescribes the patients to carry out some test for assuring the symptoms of this disease. Therefore, for confirming the TB symptoms a patient has to carry out sputum test, urine test, X-ray of lungs under the observation of clinical lab assistant.

As far as patient preparation by medical technologists is concerned, the patient also has to eat nothing for X-ray report. For a sputum test, a patient is guided by the lab technician to take the early morning sputum without eating anything. The second sample of sputum has to taking the breakfast. So on the basis of this patient preparation by medical technologists for disease like TB, the lab technician examines and tests the existence of bacteria of TB in the patient's body.
