Medical technologists perform many laboratory tests to help physicians to diagnose disease and disorders. Apart from clinical chemistry, other specialization areas are clinical microbiology, blood bank technologists, immunohematology, immunology, cytotechnology and molecular biology technology.

After successfully completing program in Medical Technology, Medical Technologists can work for a laboratory of hospitals or clinics, physician's office, blood bank, health maintenance organization, a research laboratory and after some years of experience, you can set up an independent laboratory serving hospitals and physicians.

Sufficient training of Medical Technologists along with a couple of years of experience may allow the technologists to assume the supervisory positions in laboratory work. They may become chief medical or clinical laboratory technologist in hospitals.
