When the patient is prescribed by his physician for a specific lab test, he also directs you by some guidelines about how to prepare for these lab tests. However, as far as medical technologists are concerned, many tests do not require any special instruction before the lab tests. However, some clinical tests require fasting. In addition, there are some tests for the patient f disease like Diabetes and Tuberculosis and other diseases where you should not eat anything before the tests. Patient preparation by medical technologists is the first step before carrying out any of such tests.

For a analyzing the percentage of sugar of the patient, the lab technician always prescribe the patient to prepare for some guidelines. The diabetic patient firstly has to take nothing to eat early in the morning. Therefore, by containing this situation, the lab technician checks the sugar content, which is also called as sugar at fasting. After this early sugar test, the patient has guided by the medical technologists to take a limited lunch as prescribed by the doctor. So after two hour after taking the lunch, the lab technician again check the sugar in blood, which post pantrieal test for sugar in the blood. Therefore, the patient preparation by medical technologists for a disease like Diabetic is very important to maintain the sugar level in the blood and urine. Also before taking the blood test for test like ELISA and CD4 for checking the HIV, the patient should prepare for taking unusable syringe, which must be disposable after first use. Therefore, it is very vital and precautionary patient preparation by medical technologists not to spread this dangerous disease through used syringes.

In case of TB patient, before diagnosing and treating this infectious disease, the physician prescribes the patients to carry out some test for assuring the symptoms of this disease. Therefore, for confirming the TB symptoms a patient has to carry out sputum test, urine test, X-ray of lungs under the observation of clinical lab assistant.

As far as patient preparation by medical technologists is concerned, the patient also has to eat nothing for X-ray report. For a sputum test, a patient is guided by the lab technician to take the early morning sputum without eating anything. The second sample of sputum has to taking the breakfast. So on the basis of this patient preparation by medical technologists for disease like TB, the lab technician examines and tests the existence of bacteria of TB in the patient's body.
