The medical technologists are the people who diagnose the problems in the body of the patient, using some diagnostic method. They analyze the results, and then make proper report using these results. The duties of medical technologists begin from taking the samples for the analysis. For this, they have to interact well with patients and carefully take the samples. Taking the right sample too, is among the important part of duties of medical technologists.

If they are the imaging technologists, they should handle the settings and the operating procedure of the machines. They should help the patient to sit in the correct position so that; the images taken contain all the necessary parts, which are to be analyzed

If they are using the chemical methods for the analysis of the samples, they should select to perform the right test. For this, the duties of medical technologists also include the things as to discus with the doctor and then, make the correct selection.

For some of the tests, some instruments have to be inserted in the body of the patient. Insertion of these instruments is to one of the duties of medical technologists. No part of the patient should receive any type of damage, during this procedure. The care and the disinfection of these instruments are solely, among the duties of medical technologists.

While doing the chemical analysis, the handling of the samples and the care during the chemical tests too, are, the duties of medical technologists. For this, he should properly maintain the factors during the chemical tests. These include the physical factors as well as the chemical factors. They should also see to it that, the sample is not damaged until the tests are done.

In addition to this, the duties of medical technologists also include the labeling the samples, arranging them systematically, and preparing neat and systematic reports from them. If the imaging technologies are being used, and in some special cases, they should help the doctors, analyze the reports or the results.
